About the Artist

My name is Holly Martin.

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as drawing people in the classroom eventually grew into a lifelong passion for capturing the beauty, personality, and little details that make each subject unique.

For the past 15 years, I’ve had the joy of bringing my artwork to life through painting, with a particular love for fine-point, highly detailed work. My journey into animal art came naturally. After spending 20 years as a veterinary technician specializing in surgery, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with animals every day. That experience gave me a unique appreciation for their personalities, expressions, and the small details that make them who they are—and those are the details I strive to capture in every piece I create.

Before becoming an artist and mom, I served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, where I was stationed in Italy. My time in the military taught me discipline, patience, resilience, and the importance of paying attention to the smallest details—qualities that have followed me into both my art and my everyday life.

Today, I’m a stay-at-home mom to two wonderful little ones, a four-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter. Life at home is full, happy, and a little chaotic in the best possible way. My husband and I have been happily married for eight years, and our family also includes two dogs and two cats, who provide plenty of inspiration, companionship, and the occasional interruption while I’m working.

I believe a portrait should be more than simply an accurate likeness. It should capture something that feels familiar—the expression, the personality, the quirks, and the little things you love most about the person or animal you’re looking at.

Whether I’m painting a beloved pet, a special person, or creating something completely unique for you, my goal is to make artwork that feels personal, meaningful, and truly yours.
