About the Artist

My name is Holly Martin.
I am a veterinary technician, a stay at home mom, and a pet portrait artist.
My art story starts as simple a casual pencil doodler in grade school. It progressed over the years from drawing people to painting pets. Landscapes were always a struggle but people and pets were my thing. I have tried multiple mediums and subjects and I am still open to trying new art, but I seem to do best with the animals. I have been side by side with them for over 20 years and my art reflects it.
I am a native of North Carolina. I am proud of my roots and my southern charm! I now share my life with my wonderful Minnesotan husband and our two amazing kids. We have 2 dogs and a cat and I love them all. I was a veterinary surgical technician for close to 20 years until I decided to be a mom and now my focus is on them. I still work at the vet hospital part time but, painting is how I am able to spend time with my kids, and I am pursuing it now more than ever.
Before diving into the world of veterinary care, I served as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. I was stationed in Illinois, Virginia, and Italy. It was a great experience and I loved it, I would do it all over again. Once my service was complete and I went back home, I took my surgical knowledge and applied it in a veterinary setting. I am real compassionate about the lives I am helping and that transfers into my art as well. If I can make an artistic replica of someone or something you cherish, I know that individual piece of art is going to be loved and appreciated. It brings joy to people and that brings joy to me. I'll keep doing it.
If you are interested in having a special piece of art of your own featuring your beloved pet, I would love to hear from you! Just send me a great photo—via either email or text— and let me know what size you would like. I frame all my work unless otherwise instructed. I also offer shipping.
My art reflects my love for animals and my desire to honor their beauty and character.
Thank you for visiting my site—I cannot wait to share my passion with you!
